• Charles Knowlton was Born May 10, 1800 in Templeton, Massachusetts. His parents were Stephen Knowlton, son of Ezekiel, a Captain in the Revolution and longtime representative of Templeton in the Boston legislature, and Comfort White of Gerry. Charles had an older brother Emery, who’s listed in some historical documents as a “manufacturer,” and a younger Augustus, who was a farmer.
